The environment is our world, from the very beginning we have committed ourselves to a path of environmental responsibility with the aim of minimising the environmental impact of our activity.
How? With choices that are in keeping with our principles, based on our possibilities and our growth, always starting from making best use of the Tuscan territory and from removing all that is superfluous with the related environmental costs.
We have chosen:
- Natural Cosmetics: we produce cosmetics with formulations that follow criteria of transparency and the international ISO 16128 standard for the assessment of the natural origin of ingredients.
- LOW ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT production:
- Made in Italy: all our products are 100% made in Italy, mainly in Tuscany
- Production: we do not use petrochemical solvents, our production plants are powered by energy from renewable sources.
- Our production laboratories are equipped with a UNI EN ISO 9001 certified Quality Management System.
ORGANIC TUSCAN INGREDIENTS: traceability and passion
The main ingredients in our products are organic or biodynamic and sourced in Tuscany to value the surrounding territory.
Supporting small local concerns: we seek out and work together with local concerns too, to support their business, which often has grown together with ours!
We therefore encourage the production of native organic ingredients, favouring the craft-based quality of local producers who generate certified excellences, with passion and skill.

PACKAGING: NO to unnecessary packaging, YES to eco-friendly, certified materials
Reduced materials : we limit the use of external packaging and information leaflets.
Pack: in cases where an external pack is required for the proper preservation of the product, we make it using predominantly FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified paper, made of 100% recycled fibres, bleached without using chlorine.

- 100% recyclable bottles
- Bottles in biobased, 100% recyclable materials, not from petrol-based sources but from sugar cane
- Recycled plastic bottles, for a cycle aimed at not re-introducing material into the environment
INITIATIVES FOR THE ENVIRONMENT!
Biofficina Toscana respects and supports the environment with targeted initiatives:
- Membership of the Treedom tree planting campaign. Thanks to this collaboration lasting one year, from 2020 to 2021 we created a “Biofficina Toscana forest”, gifting trees to plant to consumers who purchased on our website, reaching a total of 100 trees planted.
- Support for Ogyre: we have since 2024 been supporting Ogyre, an organisation that works concretely to combat plastic pollution in oceans, involving a network of fishermen who, during normal fishing activities, also recover waste present at sea. This innovative approach, called Fishing for Litter, makes it possible to remove plastic and other polluting materials from the water, while concurrently supporting local communities and promoting the protection of marine ecosystems. Our contribution, derived from the sales of our shampoos, is a concrete and demonstrated support for an independent project, of which we publish regular reports.
